Avoiding Student Legal Claims in Professional and Technical Programs Intended Audience.  Academic and student affairs staff, deans and directors of professional and technical programs such as nursing and other health sciences, social work, teacher education, and similar programs.

This session will offer guidance and resources on common legal issues arising from professional and technical programs, including how to avoid student discrimination and contract claims, the difference between academic and behavioral due process, educational malpractice, and student use of social media.

Presented by Assistant General Counsel, Scott Goings.
