Staffing Announcement – Director of Student Services

Please join me in welcoming Wendy Robinson as the new director of student services. Wendy’s first day in the office was  August 21st.   She will be replacing Steve Frantz, who is retiring on September 3rd, as the system office staff member who provides consultation and support to colleges and universities regarding student life and student support services.  Robinson, Wendy

An Arizona native, Wendy has both community college and university experience.  She began her career at the University of Arizona in a variety of roles related to admissions, scholarships, honors, and students with learning disabilities. She then transitioned to working for Pima Community College in a retention specialist role prior to accepting a position as Director of Student Support Services position at rural Simpson College.  Her previous position was Director of Student Development for Des Moines Area Community College.

Wendy has a BA degree in history from Calvin College and a MA degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Arizona. She expects to finish her doctoral studies at Iowa State University in 2015. Her research focuses on admissions, enrollment, retention and completion, as well as the self-concept of student services professionals.
