SUBJECT: Invitation to Attend MN FastTRAC/Shifting Gears Site Visit
Through the collaborative work of many state and local partners, including MnSCU, Adult Basic Education (ABE), Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), and Department of Human Services (DHS), MN FastTRAC has provided educationally underprepared adults with career pathways through integrating basic skills education and career-specific training in high demand fields. MN FastTRAC has been funded by a number of philanthropic partners, including the Joyce Foundation and its Shifting Gears Initiative. This coming October 7 and 8, 2014, we are hosting a final Shifting Gears evaluators site visit.
The grant evaluators have requested to meet with a number of individuals as a part of this final review, including a request to meet with leaders of MnSCU institutions that have implemented MN FastTRAC programs. Saint Paul College President Rassoul Dastmozd has graciously volunteered to lead and facilitate a conversation between the grant evaluators and MnSCU presidents/CAOs/CSAOs/leaders on Tuesday, October 7th at 1:00-2:00 PM. MnSCU participants can attend this meeting in person (held at MnSCU system office) or via interactive television. We hope to have at least 4-5 MnSCU institutions represented at this meeting, highlighting this important work and our MN FastTRAC programs.
We invite you to join us for this Shifting Gears site visit on Tuesday, October 7th at 1 PM. If you are interested in attending, respond to Pakou Yang with the following:
- Who is attending from your institution (one individual from each college or university)
- How is this individual attending (in person or via ITV)
Attached is a list of the MnSCU institutions that have had or currently have MN FastTRAC programs.
I look forward to hearing from you about your participation. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with additional questions or comments.
