The College of Liberal Arts, along with the Department of Mass Communication and WSU Adult and Continuing Education will host The International Digital Media Arts Association (iDMAa) 2016 conference October 5 through 8.

Aligning with our annual theme, “Our Digital Humanity,” this national conference will bring visitors, scholars and keynote speakers from around the country to our campus to exchange ideas and explore the question of the interface in the creative arts, in scholarship, and in media professions. Some highlights include:

  • Keynotes by Dene Grigar (Washington State University Vancouver), Nick Montfort (MIT), and Flourish Klink (Chaotic Good Studios)
  • Over 35 lighting talks, designed to quickly introduce rich concepts, and prioritize lively conversations
  • iDEAS exhibition with over 25 artists working in digital video, 3-D printing, interactive media, physical computing, transmedia, virtual reality, and other experimental forms

iDMAa boasts an international membership working in academic, fine arts, and commercial contexts.

The scale of the conference is small with an emphasis on conversations and networking, making it a great opportunity to build professional relationships.

Student discounts available for attendance. Full details are available on the iDMAa website.
