Two weeks remaining in 2018 legislative session
With only two weeks left in the 2018 legislative session, lawmakers have much to do. Now that the House has passed their bonding bill out of the Capital Investment committee, that bill will make its way to the Ways and Means committee and then the House floor. The Senate has not yet released their bonding bill, but is expected soon. As shared earlier, the House bonding bill includes $123 million for Minnesota State.
Today at the Capitol, the House Higher Education and Career Readiness Policy and Finance committee and the Senate Higher Education Finance and Policy committee will hold a joint meeting to recommend a nominee to the University of Minnesota Board of Regents.
Also today, the House Government Operations and Elections Policy committee will take up the omnibus pension bill. The Senate has already approved the bill by a bipartisan vote of 66-0. Governor Dayton supports the bill.
