May 16, 2023 @ 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
The student panel is scheduled tentatively for 12:20 – 1:30 p.m.
As we prepare for Teach Together Minnesota!, an important part of this day will be hearing directly from students about what is important to them, especially with respect to remote/online teaching and culturally responsive content and pedagogy.
We are asking for your help. Can you identify students for this panel?
Additional details:
- Student Representation: We are looking for up to six students who, together, represent high schools (dual enrollment particularly), colleges, universities, discipline/field of study cross sections, diverse life backgrounds and experiences.
- Expectations for Participation: The focus will be on the holistic student experience, particularly in the context of Minnesota State Guided Learning Pathways. As a member of this panel, students will be asked to create a single power point slide (common elements showcasing their personal journeys through education), briefly share their stories, and respond to 1-2 questions about their experiences.
- Compensation: Students will receive a $100 gift card for their participation.
- Follow-Up: After the conference, we will re-connect with student panelists to hear their feedback and learn more about their ongoing quests in education.
We will not be able to include all students nominated, but we will respond appreciatively and graciously regarding all who are.
Teach Together Minnesota! is a free, virtual conference bringing together educators from across Minnesota to have discussions with colleagues in their field of study grounded in cultural fluency and culturally relevant pedagogies.
Registration will be available soon.
Teach Together Minnesota! is funded in part by the Minnesota Office of Higher Education through the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Grant.
