The BCEENET is a national consortium of experts and educators that have developed four Course Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs) using digitized natural history collections (dNHC) data from museums and herbaria worldwide and open source software applications to provide high quality undergraduate research opportunities that can be integrated into curriculum in a wide variety of biology courses to broaden participation in undergraduate research.

Originally developed from a NSF rapid grant, BCEENET has subsequently been funded as a research collaboration network and is in the first year of Improving Undergraduate STEM Education funding.

Please check out the descriptions of the BCEENET CUREs, and you can also see more about the BCEENET CUREs on QUBES. We are also embarking on an assessment project to examine the impacts of dNHC CUREs and to create a mentored conference experience for CURE students. Faculty who implement a BCEENET CURE will be invited to participate, supported by grant funding.
