The NED was established to provide educational development opportunities that are designed by Minnesota State faculty and staff for Minnesota State faculty and staff. These opportunities help build awareness, develop knowledge, skills, and abilities, and provide space for reflecting and revising.

Background
A Mindful Path Towards Becoming ‘Our Community’s College’ at Lake Superior College is a program focused on bringing equity to the campus, using mindfulness as a tool to create a community of people who are present for each other, welcoming to all, and are aware of barriers and opportunities within our college and community. Through a campus wide effort, employees will engage in coordinated book groups, personal projects, and community podcasting all dedicated to improving the climate in the workplace and creating a culture of mindfulness.
