Executive Function, Self-Regulated Learning and RSI in Online Learning (Fall 2026)

What does it take to be successful in online courses? Today’s students manage complex demands related to planning, organization, time management, self-monitoring, and persistence. This webinar explores the relationship between executive function, self-regulated learning (SRL), and Regular & Substantive Interaction (RSI) and examines how these concepts influence student engagement and success in online courses.

Drawing on research from learning science and online education, participants will explore how intentional course design and meaningful instructor presence can support learners’ executive-function and self-regulation skills. The session will provide practical strategies for reducing cognitive load, strengthening student engagement, and designing online learning experiences that are supportive, equitable, and conducive to student success.
