The Network for Educational Development (NED) provides educational development opportunities that are designed by Minnesota State faculty and staff for Minnesota State faculty and staff. These opportunities help build awareness, develop knowledge, skills, and abilities, and provide space for reflecting and revising.
NED Partnership Workshop: QM – Connecting Learning Theories to Your Teaching Strategies (Fall 2026)

Short Course
Join a 4-week NED partnership workshop offered through Quality Matters (QM).
QM: Connecting Learning Theories to Your Teaching Strategies– Participants in this workshop will learn about several different theories of learning and how teaching strategies based on those theories can promote learning.
Format:
The partnership workshop includes synchronous and asynchronous experiences. The Zoom sessions offer opportunity to connect and collaborate with Minnesota State colleagues.
- Zoom Meeting 1 – September 11, 2026 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Complete the QM Workshop – Wednesday, September 16 to Wednesday, September 30, 2026 (2 weeks, asynchronous online, hosted in their platform, 7 hours per week estimated time)
- Zoom Meeting 2 – Friday October 9, 2026 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe characteristics of learning theories.
- Describe teaching strategies based on learning theories.

Note: Registration ends September 2, 2026 to facilitate enrollment in QM’s platform and QM requires a minimum of 10 participants to run this workshop.
