OER Community Conversations: April 2022
April 6, 2022 @ 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
FreeTopic: Using H5P tools and Pressbooks to create active OER learning activities and resources
This year Lori Beth Larsen from Central Lakes College had the opportunity to add interactive activities using H5P into the Pressbooks versions of OER in her Introduction to Humanities course. Learn how she found tools that were conducive to her philosophy of teaching and more than 30 activities that worked in the OER.
Lori Halverson-Wente from Rochester Community and Technical College will share how she has used active learning strategies to engage learners with Lodestar’s “APMaker” (Augmented Reality) into D2L Brightspace to create an interactive “culture in my backyard map.” She will also discuss the ability to localize educational resources using Pressbooks.
Open Educational Resource (OER) Community Conversations are open forum conversations for all to share, discuss, and learn from colleagues in the Minnesota State OER community. Hosted by Karen Pikula, the OER Faculty Development Coordinator, these conversations are virtual, hour-long meetings held twice per semester and feature a guest speaker on a topic of interest.
