MnSCU Presents at China Education Conference

SONY DSCA team of system faculty and administrators recently took part in the China Annual Conference for International Education. The team consisted of Holly Shi from Winona State University, Betty Strehlow from Ridgewater College, Ben Baliga from St. Cloud State University,  and Todd Harmening from system office academic affairs. The MnSCU presentations were a central component of a seminar on Pathpro which is approved by the China Ministry of Education under the China-US High-Level Consultation on People-to-People Exchanges (CPE) that strives to deepen substantive educational cooperation and exchange between Chinese higher vocational colleges and U.S. colleges and universities. The purpose of the PathPro Project is to enhance collaboration in faculty and student exchanges and to build articulation opportunities for Chinese students to continue their education in the United States. The MnSCU presentations and corresponding discussions focused on an overview of the MnSCU system, transfer and articulation, and English language learning.

MnSCU participation in the conference is a follow-up to a July China delegation visit to many of our system colleges and universities. While in China, the team took part in follow-up meetings with the delegation concerning next steps in this MnSCU-China partnership opportunity.
