A Refresher on CPL Campus Roadshows:

CPL Campus Roadshows are an ongoing free series of Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) professional development opportunities offered by host campuses, the Credit for Prior Learning Assessment Network (C-PLAN), system office Strategic Partnerships, and Minnesota State Academic and Student Affairs.

Everyone – no matter what stage of CPL they consider themselves, their department, or campus in – is welcome to attend. First and foremost, these events are designed to be networking opportunities where CPL faculty and staff can come together, learn from each other, discuss successes and frustrations, and walk away with roadmaps going forward, including faculty-evaluated external assessment crosswalks.

Roadshow Learning and Work Outcomes:

  • Increased understanding of CPL, including the ACE review and recommendation process.
  • Learned best practices in evaluating external assessments, with faculty champions sharing their experiences.
  • Applied practice in mapping training, certificates, and other formal learning experiences to course equivalencies. This includes dedicated time to work together in faculty groups and compare mapping experiences and course equivalency outcomes with colleagues.
  • Charting who does what with CPL on their campuses, with staff and administrators discussing best practices in coding CPL, campus workflow processes, and advising practices.
