See below the upcoming open educational resources (OER) opportunities available from Minnesota State for faculty and staff for the remainder of the academic year.
“The true beauty of the OER movement is the academic freedom that it provides for our faculty to create and use resources that meet the needs of their learners. It can match their teaching styles and philosophies, align with their course objectives, and also allow them to differentiate instructional materials and activities to be inclusive of the diverse cultures of our learners while ensuring equitable and accessible learning environments.”
Karen Pikula, OER Faculty Development Coordinator
More opportunities may be added throughout the term, so join the OER Community Site to receive a weekly email of upcoming Network for Educational Development events. The OER Community Site is also where to find OER resources, news, and information on Z-degrees, Opendora, OER guides, and more!
OER Learning Circles
Collaborate via facilitated weekly meetings and a D2L Brightspace Course with other Minnesota State faculty who are committed to redesigning courses around OER or creating OER materials to help eliminate textbook costs. The equivalent of .5 RCE is available to participating faculty.

By the end of the course, you will have a Pressbooks account, a title and placeholder for a publication, and a chapter outline of your work.
