Educational Innovations at the Minnesota State system office is pleased to share the results of the spring 2021 innovation funding round. Six projects have been selected to receive funding, all are ambitious and diverse, embodying the creativity and inventiveness of Minnesota State.
The program for Teach Together Minnesota! is now available, featuring detailed information on this day-long conference grounded in cultural fluency and culturally relevant pedagogies. This event is open to anyone in Minnesota that supports student learning, whether you are a colleague at a K-12 school or a public or private college or university, you are encouraged to join us.
In 2020 a Policy Work Group was formed to review Board Policy 2.9 Academic Standing and Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress and System Procedure 2.9.1 Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Join C-PLAN and guest speakers for a discussion on external assessments as they pertain to the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, as part of C-PLAN's CPL Assessment professional development series. This session, C-PLAN is extremely excited to present along with two respected CPL experts. Please join us to ideate with Tricia Olinger, Program Leader for Administrative and Executive Office Professional Programs at Rochester Community and Technical College, and Dr. Christine Pigsley, an Assistant Professor and Program Director in Applied Leadership at Minnesota State University Mankato.
The Shark Tank Open was held virtually on April 8, 2021. If you were unable to attend, or wanted to watch more than one pitch presentation happening simultaneously, Educational Innovations is happy to provide recordings of these pitch presentations, and the Innovation Expo recordings, at MinnState.edu/Shark.
Pay It Forward Funding is available for up to $10,000, and rewards innovators who wish to replicate previously funded innovations from a college or university campus. Due May 7, 2021.

Educational Innovations at the Minnesota State system office is pleased to announce the 2021 innovation funding recipients for small seed and sustaining innovation funding projects. Recipients were chosen based on the outcomes of a competitive review program and received up to $10,000. Review teams were comprised of faculty, staff, administrators, and students from the Minnesota State system.
The annual Adult Learning Institute is here again! Save the date May 26-27, 2021 for this virtual institute! Call for Proposals is open! Proposals are due Friday, April 16.
Learn about how faculty from OER Learning Circle cohorts have been helping save students money by adapting their courses to OER at the OER Project Showcase. The showcase will be held virtually across four days in April with a handful of OER Learning Circle participants in each, presenting their work and answering questions.
Minnesota State is seeking members for a two-year cohort within the MN REFLECT project. The project brings together faculty from across disciplines, institutions, and experience to participate in a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) faculty learning community. Minnesota State MN REFLECT scholars will be supported as they develop, implement, and present research results at a conference or in a journal. Research studies should focus on pedagogical practices that enhance the teaching and student experience.
Interested in getting an up-close look at an innovation? Attend a workshop April 9 from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. There are four to choose from: culturally responsive pedagogy, digital badging, the power of an innovative mindset, and virtual reality.
Funded by a large seed grant through the Shark Tank Open, Bridges Health is an emerging pedagogic model at Winona State University providing innovative clinical education and training to a wide variety of students to effectively prepare for entry into practice in today’s complex healthcare environment. This model collaborates with community organizations to form academic-community partnerships that serve students and the local community.
The Network for Educational Development (NED) is pleased to offer the Essentials of Being a Scholarly Teacher series of short courses, long courses, and learning communities on the NED event calendar.
